April Performances and Film T.B.A.

Composer Marcus Hart presents his culminating undergraduate project: a stunning contemporary ballet in nine movements, inspired by the Italo Calvino novel.
This performance features Suzanka Belik as both set designer and live visual performer, using a series of nine paper, fabric, and cellophane backdrops made by hand to accompany each movement, moved and reconfigured live in tandem with Hart's composition. These dynamic artworks are projected directly onto the stage in real time using a vintage overhead projector.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Cohen-Davison Family Theatre at the Peabody Institute
In every culture, from every perspective, intertwined with every possible experience of human life, there is Earth. Our natural surroundings make up the very fabric of who we are and how we identify. They are the canvases where our lives unfold, the beds where we wake and rest, and the foundation upon which our imagination takes root. Tonight, we will walk an auditory path together through stories both real and fantastic, following rivers, plains, oceans, and forests which anchor us to our places, deepening our sense of belonging and helping us to better understand ourselves. By recognizing these vital nonhuman characters in our own narratives, we affirm our responsibility to planetary justice, honoring the Earth, as it has always sustained since the beginning of time.
This concert is made possible by wonderful collaboration between eleven classical musicians , two choreographers, one student composer, and one incredible audiovisual engineer. Together, we interweave music with visual art, dance, and narrative to bring you an experience of planetary hope. Our wish is that you leave this room with a renewed love for the land beneath your feet, remembering that you are part of a vast, interconnected world—from the water and soil to the grass and trees, to the birds and deer that share this space with us as we all make our lives here on Earth.
